The Alachua County Library District Foundation (ACLDF) works in concert with the Alachua County Library District and the Friends of the Library to enhance and expand the Library District’s services and programs offered at its many branches throughout Alachua County.

Alachua County Library District
Alachua County Library District is an independent special taxing district and the sole provider of public library services to approximately 285,000 citizens in Alachua County, serving urban and rural communities through 11 branch locations, two bookmobiles, and multiple deposit collections. Its goal is to provide all community members with free, open, and equal access to education, information, and entertainment. The Library District’s mission is to build a better community by creating opportunities to participate, connect, and discover.

Friends of the Library
Friends of the Library is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Gainesville, Florida. They support the Alachua County Library District and literacy programs throughout Alachua County. To continue serving the Alachua County Library District, Friends of the Library welcomes community support through donations of books and other materials, through memberships and financial donations, and through the participation of volunteers on a weekly, semiannually, or as-needed basis.
